@calico992 Good plan, but protein from lean meat or fish,is still more effective in building muscle, and supporting the excercise regimin, that Jack taught.
This was the old Jack, he revised this plan, and made it completely vegetarian. Anyone who does any research knows that humans get plenty of protein from greens, vegetables, nuts and seeds. Just like the Cows, Elephants, Rhino, Hippos, Buffalo, Musk Ox, Moose, Gorilla, Giraffes, and all the other giant mammals on planet earth. The meatdairy board sponsored all the original research for the original food pyramid, and ever since, people have thought we needed meat for protein!
How many books containing hundreds of pages have been written on this subject? How many fad diets have come out in the last decade? Leave it Jack Lalanne to get right to the heart of the matter and tell you almost everything you need to know in only 3 minutes. Screw the commercialized diet industry and stick to Jack’s sage advice. He cut right through all the BS and told you what you exactly what you needed to know to live a happy and healthy life.
dude… you are nowhere near jack .. let me see you swim from Alcatraz Island to Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco while handcuffed or when you have 70 years try handcuffed, shackled, and fighting strong winds and currents to tow 70 rowboats, one with several guests, from the Queen’s Way Bridge in the Long Beach Harbor to the Queen Mary, 1 mile
or how about doing 1,033 push-ups in 23 minutes? and thats just several of records jack did
I just made one interesting observation – look how tight his waist is, apparently visceral fat around the midrift correlates positively to elevated LDL cholestrol – perhaps another reason why he lived so long
Way back then Jack was advocating healthy eating that is still being advocated today by top nutritionists! He lived what he preached until age 96! A true inspiration to all of us!
@POTATER1228 -cont… Of course this training will have to be interspersed with lighter loads (rep range 12-20) which is designed to develop, and heal tendons. There will be lesser emphasis on medium loads (rep range 6-12), and greater rest periods between training sessions, which is ideal for muscle hypertrophy.
I tend to train like this now but to increase 15lbs of muscle will require the aforementioned bodybuilding method of training with more food.
@POTATER1228 I’ve always eaten fruits and vegetables. I don’t even bother to cook my vegetables anymore. I don’t plan to get the muscle mass of someone like Ronnie Coleman, that’s way too big to be athletic. To reach my new goal I’ll have to eat more to gain 15 lbs of muscle (preferably). Then i’ll try to increase relative strength by training with heavy loads for low reps, a high training session freq, to increase the number and size of the cross bridges know as actin and myosin.
@Kreim then your goal for fitness shouldnt be to get huge. It should be able to use appropritate msucle skills. Really think about it. Do you think Ron Coleman. Would be able to fight Cage Fighters? No because he’s a bodybuilder. His muscle are strong but bulky and muscle bound. You need things like Pylmometrics. And vegetarian diets tend give you energy. Not many successful athlestes get by with JUST a diet of meat. All of them eat some meat with lots of fruits and veggies. too much meat hurts
@POTATER1228 I didn’t try to use “gay” derogatorily. I was only expressing my opinion that the physique is gay. I have no energy left for any social graces, so I’m blunt- it is this fucking heat. Don’t diminish the beauties of a coronary. A heart attack is a good way to go compared to cancer and Parkinsons. My goal for fitness is falls within the range of UFC competition, with more emphasis on practical strength.
@Kreimehn “Real men.” Uh huh sure. A lot of good all that muscle does when you have a heart attack. People with lower physiques are not bodybuilders and although not as strong are much less muscle bound and are more well balanced in things such as cardio. We’re respecting different types of performances. And respect? I was never convincing, just pointing out my pros. You just used “gay” derogatorily after showing you a point and spat it in my face. And Im pesco vegetarian with some chicken.
@POTATER1228 Real men are not interested in physiques, but performance. I doubt that this “model” can out perform me in any feat of strength, especially the bench, squat, deadlift, ect… I am not desperately interested in converting people over to my opinion. This is just discussion, and i conduct myself with respect. How do you eat?
@Kreimehn He’s not a body builder. But he still achieves results better than mose average people on average meat eater diets. and seems healthier than mose average diets. But thanks for being a total douche. Maybe if you acted like less of an asshole people would respect your opinions.Tell ya what. Show me your physique than talk.
@POTATER1228 Yes i agree that it is impressive. It is also gay, thanks for making me click it. Ive seen much better physiques on meat-eaters. That man certainly has his diet and training spot on.

Jack was a wise man indeed. A high protein diet is the best way to build muscle, and stay trim.
