I have been trying to lose weight for the past three years. I have PCOS and I have but to find a diet plan that operates for far more than a week.

One that has less calories than your body employs. Which is all it will come down to. As prolonged as you stick to this, you can pick any diet plan, but diet programs balanced in protein, carbs and fats are inclined to keep you from getting too hungry.

A symptom of PCOS is weight gain even with diet and exercise. I would definitely see a doctor and get his/her opinion, since it could be impossible to lose weight with the condition.

Ahoy, fellow PCOS sufferer! First of all, take yourself to a doctor and get the bloodwork done. Figure out if you have insulin-resistance issues and go on meds if necessary. You’re going to want a low-carb diet that’s a modified South Beach variety. I just bought a book called The Insulin-Resistance Diet that explains all about balancing protein and carbs. I highly recommend it.

I have been put on metformin to help with pcos symptoms – I am not over weight but I have lost weight since starting taking them and it seems to be steady even though I eat loads and don’t really exercise.
Ask your doctor and have a look at the verity website:

Good luck

I don’t have PCOS myself, but I’m on a general low-carb board and many of the women there have PCOS and have been successful at losing. They also say that low-carb has helped their other PCOS symptoms.
There is a section of the forum dedicated to those with PCOS. Here is the link http://forum.lowcarber.org/forumdisplay.php?f=46
